Phantom Abyss para Leigos

If I get the Obsidian whip, and I encounter one of those guys that run at mach 3 speed, I just quit, as they blaze ahead of everyone and take the loot.

At Kotaku, we independently select and write about stuff we love and think you'll like too. We have affiliate and advertising partnerships, which means we may collect a share of sales or other compensation from the links on this page. BTW – prices are accurate and items in stock at the time of posting.

But despite all of this, the core of Phantom Abyss remains. The idea of loading into a deadly and hostile temple to evade enemies, survive and avoid traps, and to race to and claim a relic at the end of said temple all before another asynchronous player manages to do so is still preserved in its simplistic brilliance.

Phantom Abyss is an asynchronous multiplayer title, which in practice means that while the game is technically multiplayer and lots of players are competing for the same relic in the same temple, none of the players seen in the level are live.

This is a blessing that is more useful the later you are in a run. Guardians on their own aren't particularly challenging to deal with, but when you have to dodge both them and the temple's hazards, they can be a nuisance.

Essentially, don't expect to find a revamped or a completely new Phantom Abyss experience with this 1.0 update, because that isn't what this is. Instead, what you'll find is simply an upgrade and slight improvement to various aspects and parts of the entire framework that constitutes what Team WIBY created in the first place.

Explore the perilous halls and colossal rooms of each temple alongside the phantoms of fallen players that came before you and use their successes and failures to your advantage to progress deeper than they ever could have hoped.

The choice of game modes will determine what kind of whip you have to use, what kinds of challenges you'll have to overcome, the number of ghost players that will be present, and arguably most importantly, what kinds of rewards you get if you're successful and manage to get your mitts on the relic at the level's end. Add to this additional whip tweaks that make them less frustrating to use, and also further ways to acquire cosmetic skins for your tools.

Developer Team WIBY and publisher Devolver Digital have created some real challenges as you duck, dodge, and slide your way through. Is it enough to keep players engaged and having fun?

best whip in your opinion? ive unlocked all the whips and im not really sure which one i would consider the "best whip" funny enough tho id say the phantom whip (green whip) is one of my favourite whips; however when there isnt any phantoms i feel like sobbing

Mid-air course correction plus additional vertical and horizontal movement is a very powerful ability to have in a game where quick and precise platforming is rewarded. It's even secretly a triple jump -- grappling a platform or wall with your whip will reset your mid-air jump, allowing you to jump > jump > whip grapple > jump again!
